To commemorate World Microbiome Day, we have decided to have an Annual lecture series on June 27 every year. Due to COVID-19 pandemic and other unavoidable situations, not able to organize the lecture this year. We have planned to have the initiation of this annual lecture series from next year (2021) and will continue regularly. We will have international experts and leaders in the field of microbiota as the speakers every year.

This year, we commemorated the World Microbiome Day by spreading awareness on importance of microbiota and following message via social media and webinars. We received a wide response from students and general public as we showed the positive side of the microbes and their role in day-to-day activities.

It is always a proud moment to present in a place where we grown up and infront of the teachers who taught. This webinar has been a grand success with more than 600 participants all around the world. The talks and discussion extended for more than two hours minutes. Great organization by my teachers.

This webinar seeded several thoughts and discussions within me including "Are microbes the god?"

Great News! Our proposal submitted to CEFIPRA in colloboration with Prof. Gilles, University of Lyon accepted for funding.
Dr. G. Velmurugan participated and presented in the IDEG Conference at Seoul on "Prevalence of diabetes in rural farming community in South India".

Dr. Krishnan Swaminathan presented the activities of KMCH REsearch Foundation including the studies on microbiota in the clinical meeting of Kovai Medical Center & Hospital (KMCH).

Velmurugan joined KMCH Research Foundation as independent Scientist and christened his lab as "Chemomicrobiomics Laboratory.
