KMCH Research Foundation

KMCH Research Foundation is a non-profit, DSIR (Government of India) approved research institute associated with The Kovai Medical Center & Hospital (KMCH), which is a premium, multispeciality hospital in Coimbatore. The research foundation was started in 2015 with a special focus on health care research particularly in rural communities. The research foundation is headed by Dr. Arulraj Ramakrishnan, Gastroentrologist & Hepatologist. As our logo indicates (changing faces), we are ardent in the process of translating basic research from lab table to clinical side.

KMCH Research Foundation is affiliated to SASTRA (Deemed to be University), Thanjavur and currently offers full time Ph.D programme.

Vision & Focus

To conduct epidemiological research (particularly in underprivileged sectors like villages) on the prevalence of of non-communicable diseases.

To execute basic and clinical research on understanding the etiology and molecular mechanism of diseases.

To translate the research outcomes from lab-table to bed-side for better health care in India.

To develop guidelines for policy decisions and development of novel diagnostics & therapetuics
