Dr. G. Velmurugan
Scientist

Completed Masters and Ph.D from Madurai Kamaraj University. He worked at Cologne University (Germany), IIT Madras & University of Florida (USA).
​
Joined in August, 2019 as Independent Investigator in Department of Biochemistry & Microbiology, KMCH Research Foundation, Coimbatore. The major research interest is to understand the interaction between chemicals and microbiota.
Dr. G. Buvaneswari
Post-doctoral fellow

Completed Masters from Thiagarajar College, Madurai and Ph.D from Bharathidasan University. She was awarded ICMR-Research Associateship and joined our lab from March 2021.

Currently, working on understanding the impact of endocrine-disrupting chemicals on gut microbiota & intestinal mitochondria. Also involved in developing gut microbiota-derived probiotics for diabetes
D. Karthika
Ph.D Scholar

Completed her Masters from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Karthika joined our lab in March 2021 and subsequently got awarded ICMR SRF in July, 2022.
​
Currently, working on profiling of gut microbiota during diabetes of different etiology in mice model to understand the host-microbiota interaction. Her interest is to elucidate the role of microbiota on hormone secretion.

V. Samrat Ashok
Ph.D Scholar
​
Completed Bachelors from Dr. NGP College and Masters from Amity University. Ashok joined our lab in August 2021.
​
Currently, working on understanding the role of gut microbiota during type 1 diabetes and its correlation with clinical features. Interested to develop pancreatic organoids to explore the role of gut microbiota and its metabolites during type 1 diabetes.
S. Srinidhi Narayani
Ph.D Scholar

Completed her Bachelors from The American College, Madurai and Masters from Madurai Kamaraj University with first rank. Srinidhi joined our lab in January 2022 with provisional award of DST Inspire Fellowship.
​
Currently, working on profiling of tumour microbiota in breast cancer and interested in developing microbiota associated organoids for breast cancer.
Dr. A. Parthasarathy
Post-doctoral fellow
​
Completed Masters from Annamalai University and Ph.D from Madurai Kamaraj University. He has good experience on microalgal culture, microbiology and field work. He joined our lab in December, 2022 as Research Associate.

Currently, involved in exploring the link between drinking water and waste water microbiota with environmental pollution and health of plants, animals and humans (One Health)
Dr. M. Gowdham
Post-doctoral fellow
​
Completed Masters and Ph.D in Bioinformatics from Bharathiar University , Coimbatore. He worked as PDF in Centre for Brain Research, IISc, Bangalore. He was awarded ICMR-Research Associateship and joined our lab in Jan., 2023.
​
He works on integrating multiomics data (microbiomics, genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, phenomics) and prediction of precision medicine for diseases,

Surya Ramalingam
Project fellow
​
Completed Bachelors in Psychology from Kumaraguru College, Coimbatore. He is interested in clinical and sports psychology. He joined our lab in August, 2023.
​
Currently, he is involved in assessing the cognition levels in children with type 1 diabetes and correlating with the clinical outcomes and changes in gut microbiota profile.
